چکیده

The interest of supplying lignocellulosic materials for producing fermentable sugars has recently emerged in order to diminish the negative environmental effects fossil fuels. In this study, Ulmus minor clone Ademuz, characterized its tolerance Dutch elm disease and rapid growth, was evaluated as a source sugars. For that, different pretreatments, comprising autohydrolysis, dilute acid hydrolysis, catalyzed organosolv, alkaline extraction, were at two levels severity (pretreatment temperatures 160 °C 180 °C, except extraction 80 °C); resulting pretreated enzymatically hydrolyzed production. major lignin hemicellulose achieved during organosolv (48.9%, lignin; 77.9%, hemicellulose) hydrolysis (39.2%, 95.0%, enzymatic digestibility (67.7%, organosolv; 53.5% hydrolysis). Contrarily, under most favorable conditions autohydrolysis (180 °C) (160 °C), lower produced (4.8%, 67.2%, hemicellulose, autohydrolysis; 22.6%, 33.1%, extraction), leading (32.1%, 39.2%, extraction). Taking into account solubilized from pretreatment liquors, highest (glucose xylose) yield production (28.1%) per gram biomass U. Ademuz with °C.

Comparison of five pretreatments for the production of fermentable sugars obtained from Pinus pseudostrobus L. wood

To benefit from the use of a waste product such as pine sawdust from a sawmill in Michoacán, Mexico, five different pretreatments for the production of reducing sugars by enzymatic hydrolysis were evaluated (sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, steam explosion, organosolv and combined method nitric acid / sodium hydroxide). The main finding of the study was that the pretreatment with 6 % HNO3 and 1...

Complete chemical hydrolysis of cellulose into fermentable sugars through ionic liquids and antisolvent pretreatments.

This work describes a relatively simple methodology for efficiently deconstructing cellulose into monomeric glucose, which is more easily transformed into a variety of platform molecules for the production of chemicals and fuels. The approach undertaken herein first involves the dissolution of cellulose in an ionic liquid (IL), followed by a second reconstruction step aided by an antisolvent. T...

Fermentable sugars by chemical hydrolysis of biomass.

Abundant plant biomass has the potential to become a sustainable source of fuels and chemicals. Realizing this potential requires the economical conversion of recalcitrant lignocellulose into useful intermediates, such as sugars. We report a high-yielding chemical process for the hydrolysis of biomass into monosaccharides. Adding water gradually to a chloride ionic liquid-containing catalytic a...

One and Two Stage Autohydrolysis Pretreatments for Enzyme Hydrolysis of Coastal Bermuda Grass to Produce Fermentable Sugars

Coastal Bermuda grass (CBG) is an agricultural residue with considerable potential as a feedstock for lignocellulosic-based ethanol. The treatment of biomass with water at high temperature, termed autohydrolysis, can be used to recover sugars in the filtrate and to improve enzyme digestibility of the pretreated solids. The effect of a twostage autohydrolysis process with respect to total sugar ...
